A.C.M.A. Minutes December 2014

We are way...behind on posting minutes, for example we are just now posting minutes from December 2014! Please excuse the lateness of these, we appreciate your prayerful support of this ministry.

Official ACMA MINUTES

DECEMBER 2014

The December meeting of the South Central Kentucky Chapter of the ACMA was held at the ARC Christian Fellowship located at 108 Bell Lane in Monticello, KY. on December, 13, 2014.  The meeting was called to order by National Chairman Chuck Gibson. We were led in prayer by National Chaplain Tim Massengale. The American Flag was presented by John Mahorney, our National Honor Guard, who also led us in saying The Pledge Of Allegiance.

The minutes from the November, 2014 meeting was read by National Secretary Debbie Dykes. A motion was made by May Bell and seconded by Bro. John to accept the minutes as read. As is our custom, a second motion was made by Mom Perry and seconded by May Bell in order to accept the minutes as being true and accurate The minutes were moved to finished business.

Next, the financial report was read by National Chairman and Treasurer Chuck Gibson.  A motion was made by Jordan Burkes and seconded by Tim Massengale to accept the financial report as read.  As is our custom, a second motion was made by Mom Perry and seconded by Chris Bertram to accept the financial report as true and accurate.  The financial report was moved to old business.

After the financial report was moved to old business, the meeting was passed from the hands of National Chairman, Chuck Gibson, to the newly appointed Wayne County Chapter Leader, Jordan Burkes.

We then moved to Old Business.  The Singing Convention was the first item of old business. A motion from May Bell and a second from Chris Bertram moved it to finished business.  The Comp Disc was the second item in old business.  The disc will be sent out to 50 radio stations that have a full time Gospel format. The cost is $50 per song per artist. If interested see, call or email Chuck Gibson.  His number is (606) 307-1258 or email at evjuniorgibson@yahoo.com.  On a motion made by May bell and a seconded by Chris Bertram the Comp Disc will remain in old business until April 2015.  A motion was then made by Mom Perry and seconded by Bro. John to close out old business.

We then moved on to New Business.  There were three items opened up for discussion.  First, Chris Bertram brought to the floor the idea of placing a donation box at all ACMA events as a way of bringing money into the association.  Everyone was in agreement to this idea.  Secondly, Wayne County Chapter Leader, Jordan Burkes brought to the floor an idea of having All Night Singings four times a year.  Churches mentioned as possible sites were:  Burnside Baptist, ARC Christian Fellowship, Monticello Methodist, and Fall Creek Baptist.  Everyone was in agreement with this idea as well.  Thridly, the renewal of the ACMA website and post office box was brought to the floor. Everyone agreed that both should be renewed.  Finally a motion was made by Bro. John and seconded by Tim Massengale to close new business.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Bro. John and seconded by Mom Perry.

We were led in our closing prayer by Jordan Burkes.

I believe I have discussed these before, but I will go over them again (for those of you who missed it the first time around.)

In the first column we have unique visitors. Those who frequent the site, and browse around. Next "Number of visits" this is all about how many times unique visitors visit the site. Pages tells us that when our visitors browsed the site they visited 405 pages on the site! 2078 hits in January, and the month is not over yet...praise God! The bandwidth is how much media (music was played on the site.) as well as other files.

The A.C.M.A. is as viable as ever, thanks to the Lord and what He is doing in the lives of our Artists...and the message that is being made public...for the whole world to see, via the World Wide Web.) and not hiding in a corner somewhere! God bless the A.C.M.A. and those of you who make it possible and worthwhile, working on a greater reward than that of mere appreciation.

A.C.M.A. Official Minutes for 11-08-14

So sorry but these are being posted late (a whole 2 months late Tongue out but Lordy, I have been so very busy! "Better late than never," is what granny used to say.

ACMA Official Minutes

November 8th 2014

The South Central Kentucky Chapter of the A.C.M.A. held its first meeting of 2014 after a complete reorganization of this region.  There have been many changes in this area and the head board thought it best to allow a brief period in reorganizing the various administrative offices. Those particular changes have now taken place and we are now ready to move forward with the Lord’s help.

The meeting was called to order at 2:30 pm by National Chairman Chuck Gibson. We opened in prayer by Chaplain Tim Massengale (National Chaplain for the A.C.M.A.). The American flag was then presented by National Honor Guard John Mahorney as we said the pledge of allegiance.

The reading of the minutes from our previous meeting October 3rd 2013 was then rendered by National A.C.M.A. Secretary Debbie Philpot. A motion was made to accept the minutes as being read by Glenda Gibson, and was seconded by Sonny Hankins. Another motion was then made as is our custom to deem the minutes accurate and true by Mary “Mom” Perry and seconded by Chris Bertram. The minutes were then passed into finished business.

The financial report was then rendered by acting National Treasurer Chuck Gibson, A motion was then made to accept said financial report as being read by Glenda Gibson, and was then seconded by Sonny Hankins. A second and separate motion was then made  to accept said financial report as being accurate and true (“again as is our custom”), motion made by Chris Bertram, and seconded by Brother John Mahorney. The financial report was then moved into finished business.

Since all old business was tabled by the head board until further notice, new business was introduced. First we want to welcome all new members to the A.C.M.A. including the former Alaskan Lieutenant Governor Henry “Hal” Farrar, and the Rev. Melvin Dumpson SR. who has joined our family from the great State of Alabama, signed on as Alabama State Chapter Leader and Southeast Regional Director. A position held by our National Chairman Chuck Gibson for the last five years. We also recognized the appointment of Brother Jordan Burks as the new Wayne County Chapter Leader…We want to welcome to our A.C.M.A. family, the 8 new members that have joined this year. Stanley Payne, Mary (Mom) Perry, Chris Bertram, Jeremy Bermel, Glenda Norton Gibson, Jordan Burks, Rev. Melvin Dumpson,  and as stated the former Lieutenant Governor of Alaska Henry (Hal) Farrar, with four pending applications.

We want to congratulate Glenda (Norton) Gibson for her appointment to A.C.M.A. Concessions Chairperson. We know she will do a great job. She has asked however for everyone’s help (ladies), no-one person cannot do it all, because it takes a team effort to make any event successful.

The 2014 Singing Convention was deemed a tremendous success by all in attendance. The “Meet and Greet” hailed as one of the highlights of the evening when a new ministry to the A.C.M.A. was unveiled Gospel Light Studios (an outreach of the Gospel Light Band.) which was started 5 years ago by the Rev. Sonny Hankins and is joined by his son, Jerry. We wish them both God-speed in their endeavors to please God  all that they do for His eternal glory and God-head.

We then moved on to an excellent banquet prepared by Conley Bottom Caterers, a ham dinner with all the trimmings. A special thanks to the ladies who helped serve the meal: my wife Glenda Gibson, Sister Anna Mae Massengale, and Sister Verna Edwards. After the meal we were entertained with performances by nominees of the 2014 A.C.M.A. awards process. The Rev. Sonny Hankins and son Jerry together with the Gospel Light Band featured songs from Brother Sonny’s project “Thank You Lord For Loving Me.” Jeremy Bermel, Brother Levi Malone, and last but certainly not least, Gerald and Verna Edwards (Lighthouse) from Georgia.

Following these performances, the prestigious A.C.M.A. awards were presented to the winners: Kenneth Hart for Soloist of the Year, The Fall Creek Boys for Group of the Year award, Brother John Mahorney who grabbed the Male Vocalist of the year award, along with dedication and service award. the Female Vocalist of the year went to Sister Anna May Massengale, as well as winning the Outstanding Fan Award, Chuck Gibson (our beloved National Chairman) won the Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive time, and wrapped up the Song of the Year award for the son “The Old Home Place,” from the album bearing the same title. We wish to congratulate all nominees and winners (because all went home winners…the nominees were handed a certificate of recognition.) Every year this process gets better, we are now waiting to see what next year will bring.

A 2015 A.C.M.A. Compilation Disc is now in the works, with an expected deadline of April 30th 2015. The cost is $50.00 per song. The comp disc is then mailed out to 50 full gospel radio stations nationwide which have a flexible format to accommodate music of all genres of gospel music. If you are interested in being on the A.C.M.A. Comp Disc, please contact Chuck Gibson evjuniorgibson@yahoo.com  The next order of business was to set up our next meeting. It was agreed that the next meeting of the South Central Kentucky Chapter will be December 13th at the ARC Christian Fellowship and will begin at 3pm.

After a brief discussion of new business a motion was made to close new business by Sonny Hankins, and seconded by Brother John.

A motion was then entertained to close out the meeting at 4pm by Chuck Gibson, seconded by Glenda Gibson. We adjourned with prayer by National Chaplain Tim Massengale.

Questions and Answers
Recently I was asked, "Is the A.C.M.A. Biased or perhaps prejudice because we don't have any other genre listed on the Available For Ministry Page?  Of course my answer to that is NO WAY! In our purposes it states that we promote and assist all genres of music, Country Gospel, R & B Gospel, Bluegrass, Contemporary Christian, as long as it promotes the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to be versitile in our music styles.  Also another question that has crossed my desk as of late is,: Do we endorse a particular doctrine?  The answer to that one is NO also.  The A.C.M.A. is interdenominational, which means that all demonations are welcome to join.  However, we ask that particular doctrines are best kept to one's self, as it will gender strife.  That is the way Troy Cupp set it up, and if I have anything to say about it, (as long as I am National Chairman), that will be the way it stays.  That is another part of our purposes, "We are promoting the Gospel in song as a ministry to all people," not catering to a certain culture, or sect of people. As a matter of fact it is my prayer that we 'BREAK THROUGH" all the denominational barriers.  I had someone else tell me, "Brother, there are no such thing as a denominational barriers," I begged to differ with my Brother, there are, and always will be these types of barriers, until we come into the unity of our faith that is in the Lord Jesus Christ, and lay our differences aside.  I preach Jesus Christ and Him being Crucified, as the Apostle Paul who determined not to know anything among them except, that Christ was crucified, and arose again on the third day for the remission of our sins,.  You may even say that this is a doctrinal belief...and it is "The Doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ!" God bless and keep you all, and may God get all the glory for everything that is accomplished in Jesus name!

The American flag that was presented to the A.C.M.A. by the Woodmen Of The World Insurance Group and placed in the care of our newly appointed Honor Guard Brother John Mahorney, wanted to make a motion that he would make a flagpole for the flag to be mounted on and displayed at every A.C.M.A. event, that motion was then seconded by Brother Chuck Gibson.   The 2013 A.C.M.A. Award process was back on the table. Paper ballots are to be completed entirely (not just a vote for the person you want to vote for, if voters have problems with not knowing who to vote for, then said voters need to go to the A.C.M.A. official web-site and make an informed decision…and if they do not have internet access where they live they can visit their local library). The ballot must be signed if not on the front, then on the second page, where it is a little more discrete. Also a verifiable phone number or e-mail address has to accompany every ballot turned in (no exceptions to this rule will be counted). A paper ballot will be made ready and available to anyone who does not have internet access, they will have to make their own copies and distribute and run their campaign that way. Those who have internet access can download and print off as many copies as they need to win their respective categories. This is done so that everyone has a fair chance at winning in the categories they are nominated for, and remember that the electronic ballot is also up and running on the social network www.theacma.ning.com the electronic ballot is now located on Brother Chuck’s page (to avoid people who are not members from stuffing the ballot box). You don’t to be a friend to Brother Chuck to vote, but you do have to be a member of the social network to be allowed to visit Chuck Gibson’s Page (National Chairman of the A.C.M.A.) and vote for your favorite Artist in every category.

The A.C.M.A. Tour Dates (itinerary) was brought to the table and discussed.
