Official Minutes Of The A.C.M.A. June 16th 2012

We met at Hardees South 27 Somerset, Ky. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 pm in attendance were Pulaski County Chapter Leader Nathan Purcell, Wayne County Chapter Leader Alene New Gibson, Wayne County members Julie Bryant, Ronnie Philpott, Debbie Adair, Amanda Neeley, Andrew and Beth Neeley, Chairman Chuck Gibson, Pulaski County members Charlene Worley, and a representitive from Powell County; Liz Barry.

We opened with prayer by A.C.M.A. National Co-Chairman Nathan Purcell. The minutes from our previous meeting April 28th were then rendered by Kentucky State Secretary Amanda Neeley. A motion was made by Head Board Member Ronnie Philpott to accept minutes as being read, and seconded by, Beth Neeley. The motion to accept minutes as being accurate and true was then made by Wayne County Chapter Leader Alene New Gibson and seconded by Pulaski County Chapter Leader Nathan Purcell.

The Financial report was then rendered by A.C.M.A. National Chairman Chuck Gibson. A motion was then made to accept the financial report as being read by Kentucky State Secretary Amanda Neeley, and seconded by Charlene Worley. Another motion was made to accept said financial report as being accurate and true by Ronnie Philpott and seconded by Julie Bryant.

Old Business was then brought to the table:

The Comp disc is ready and copies have been presented to Members of the A.C.M.A. for $5.00 non-members can also purchase one for $10.00 the first 25 copies are now ready to be shipped to radio stations Nationwide...actually starting with 10 of our local stations, including the King Of Kings Network (Somerset, Ky.) We then opened up the item for disscussion. A motion was then made by Chuck Gibson to keep this item as old business till such time as we deem it finished business, seconded by Nathan Purcell.

The A.C.M.A. Spirit card was then disscussed. The Chairman has vetoed the decision on the Spirit Card (that was to be used for a bus that would've been used to shuttle A.C.M.A. members back and forth from events) however the remaining 280 cards will now be divided between Pulaski and Wayne Counties after we paid Wayne County Chapter Leader Alene New Gibson her initial fee of $93.00 for processing and printing the cards. The price has changed, we were asking $10.00 for them but have decided to lower the price to $8.00, ($4.00 to the National fund, and $4.00 to the County in which it is intended) also an expiration date was discussed...the card will expire May 30th of 2013. A motion was then made to move this item to finished business by Chuck Gibson seconded by Julie Bryant. However during an overview of the minutes the Chaiman has decided that we need to keep it as old business.

A motion was then made to close out old business by Amanda Neeley seconded by Alene New Gibson.

New Business was then brought to the table:

The Bible jeopardy trivia game was again the topic of dicussion as new business opened. It will cost each contestant $10.00 and the grand prize winner will recieve three hours of recording time at Glory-Land Studios (see Nathan Purcell for details) concession prizes will also be given away to each contestant that participates. (as a courtesy of Julie Ann Bryant) this item will remain new business till such time as all the details are worked through, a motion made by Ronnie Philpott and seconded by Charlene Worley.

The A.C.M.A. Blog-Talk radio show was back on the table for further discussion. Our host (Chairman Chuck Gibson) has taken a second shift job and is unable to to start the program at this time, but will be looking for an opportunity of getting a first shift position. This item will remain as new business. A motion made by Charlene Worley, and seconded by Alene New Gibson.

The A.C.M.A. national picnic was considered a sucess by all who attended, and the best one ever! It was agreed to book Eubank Park again for next year $20.00 was given to Co- Chairman Nathan Purcell for a donation for the use of the park. The item was then moved to finished business, a motion made by Amanda Neeley, seconded by Debbie Philpott.

The McCreary County Picnic has been postponed till County Chapter Leader Bryan Watson finds another venue, place and time. A motion was made by Beth Neeley to move this item to old business till such time as more details are more readily available, seconded by Andrew Neeley.

The candidates for nomination has now been officially confirmed, you can check it out here now it's on to the awards process!

A.C.M.A. tour dates were then discussed and everyone checked their date books to syncronize events. A.C.M.A. car wash that took place on June 23rd at Hardees south 27 Somerset, Ky. $50.00 profit was made as a fundraiser to the National Committee, this item was then moved to finished business  a motion that was made by Amanda Neeley and seconded by Julie Ann Bryant.

Add ons to new business are:

Criteria was disscussed on accepting future members. The Board and members then moved on a motion made by Nathan Purcell that we amend the Application to include a screening process...three character references, it seems we have had some problems with accepting members with questionable character, and without any screening process in place anyone can join without a background check. This motion was seconded by Andrew Neeley. This item will remain new business for further disscussion. Click here to check out the new app.

A motion was then made and introduced as new business that the A.C.M.A. stop ministering in Churches by Nathan Purcell. The logic of which is to separate ourselves from doctrines of any particular Church or denomination as to lend our support to and or endorse one certain denomination. This motion was seconded by Alene New Gibson...however this motion was over ruled by the National Chairmen of The A.C.M.A. Chuck Gibson who has absolute veto power. He reasoned that the A.C.M.A. whereas it does lend itself to the Church to assist in Her Ministry is not operated by one particular denomination and was set up as a tool of ministry to all people including but not limited to "The Church" The A.C.M.A. is all about Ministry, it has never been about entertainment even though there are some who believe that is exactly what it is. The Motion is hereby overturned and will pass into finished business.

Next meeting of the South Central Kentucky Head Board will take place on August 4th 2012. Hardees South 27 (across from Parker Mill Rd.) Somerset, Ky. at 12:00 pm All members are invited and encouraged to come especially all Chapter Leaders.

A motion to close out New Busines was then made by Chuck Gibson, seconded by Ronnie Philpott.

A motion was then made to close out the meeting by Ronnie Philpott, seconded by Amanda Neeley.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 pm and closed in Prayer by Chuck Gibson and may God bless the A.C.M.A.!!!!!!!!!!
